Day 1: Overbooking

Hello everybody!!

here we are, on our first day in Argentina. We almost suffer a heart attack when yesterday night, 2 hours before our departure, an Iberia steward told us that due to the overbooking, we had no place in the plane.... WHAT!!!!!!??????
I almost fainted and Mihai almost kill him... so finally we manage to get two seats... ufffff

so, after a 12 hours trip we managed to land at Buenos Aires using an approach "category 3"... that is that the fog was sooooo dense that the pilot couldn´t see the landing track until we were already landed.... and the best of all, we could see everything (in fact nothing) with a camera on the plane tail.... incredible 3rd category landing.

We arrived to the hostel willing to see the center of buenos aires but, bad luck the farmers were having a "non peaceful" demonstration all over the center so my far far far away Argentinian uncles came to rescue us and take us for a trip around buenos aires. We saw the delta "El tigre", San Isidro neighborhood, la Boca, Palermo lakes and el Mar de la Plata ...incredible wide river....

And now, at 21.03 local time, 02.03 Spanish time we go to sleep. Tomorrow, 6.15 the clock alarm will sound and we will go to see the Glaciers.......

P.S. Cris forgot to say we have also seen the Plaza de Mayo, La Casa Rosada (the government building) and the Obelisk.

Segovia

Short trip to Segovia and La Granja palace. Segovia is mall and in couple of ours we have seen the old part and the castle. The aqueduct is amazing ..... La Granja was used as summer residence of the kings and constructed by Philip V in 1721 modeled on Versailles. The gardens are huge. Unfortunately big parts are closed due to repairs and the fountains only work couple of hours in the afternoons but only Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. I think there is too much bronze sculpture on the fountains and the color its not so nice. Al the fountains need repairs since they are in bad shape.

Tarifa

A short trip to Tarifa and the surroundings. We visited the ruins of Baelo Claudia, the sand dunes and we stop on our way back in Cadiz for a couple of hours. Although the roman form is not big its location next to the see (100 meters) makes it very interesting. They knew how to live...enjoying the Mediterranean climate. Cadiz old center is also interesting but since we did not have too much time we just wondered around a little. And of course I had my hair cut :) ....

Bucharest for few days

Now that the training in Toulouse finished I went to Bucharest for a couple of days to solve some papers. Unfortunately is raining a lot and is cold. Tomorrow I will fly back to the hot and windy Zaragoza. Since we have to spare some money for the trip to Argentina we were not traveling around too much ..so no new photos for this post :(.
